Hello and Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate!
A while ago I shared a picture of the insides of the Grainline Studio Morris Blazer I was making and it went CRAZY on Instagram. It was easily the most likes and comments I had ever had on a photo! I mean, you guys really like pictures of pretty guts! Note to self: post more pictures of the insides of garments!
I shared a few months ago that I have started knitting and I blogged this hat that I made. I am really enjoying supplementing my sewing with a new craft. It is so nice being able to pick up my knitting when I am a bit too tired to sew. I don’t know about you but since the start of the darker evenings I am not always super motivated to have the bright lights on so that I can see to sew. With knitting, I can curl up with just the lamps on and keep cosy adding a few more rows onto my knitting project.
If you have been following this blog for a while you may have seen me mention some fabric scraps I bought from my favourite RTW brand at the end of last year. Once a year, Palava (the only RTW brand I still buy!) sell off some of their fabric scraps in an effort to stick to their zero waste commitments and contribute a portion of the money to charity. As well as buying fabrics which otherwise would have been a waste product headed for landfill, they are also more ethical fabrics such as Tencel and Organic Cotton. Read More
Here it is! The little cropped jacket of my dreams! Despite tons of problems during the sewing, it’s actually here! I bought this fabric at Sew Up North in June of 2017. In fact, it was the only fabric I bought on the day which was crazy as it was the middle of summer! I didn’t make it into anything last winter as I just couldn’t find the perfect jacket pattern to show off the ombre and so it just sat on my shelf.
