Sointu for Sew Loco

SONY DSC

Last year I was sent some of this beautiful Lady McElroy fabric to review from Sew Loco. I made this top and took photos in the old house but then life happened and Lucy took a little break to have a baby! She’s back now and Sew Loco has reopened with 20% off all fabrics all this weekend with the code SUMMER20 . So I am excited to finally share this make with you!

Waistband hack for refashions

20190725_133656

Hello! It’s my #ToolThursday weekly review post and this week I have tried out Vlieseline Waistshaper interfacing. It is basically a strip of interfacing with perforated lines to guide where you press/sew in order to create a perfect waistband without any pattern pieces.

Fringe Dress Fiasco!

Oh man, this fabric and I have been through the ringer! I actually cut out pieces of another pattern before I realised it wasn’t going to fit me!! Fortunately, the Chalk and Notch Fringe Dress came to my rescue and I LOVE the finished dress!

For all the grizzly details in the disaster that eventually led to this gorgeousness please click here and read all about it!

Disclaimer: ⭐️Fabric was provided free of charge in exchange for a review. I chose the fabric and what to make with it. All opinions are totally my own, and I wouldn’t recommend something I didn’t like!

We were looking for leafy…

Anyone get the quote from the title? I can’t stop saying it whenever I wear this dress! Anyway, as I’ve mentioned before, there’s no point writing a whole blog post for my blog when I do one of these reviews as I don’t have any more to say than I have already said (and WHO is going to read two blog posts about the same thing anyway?!). If you like this dress and want to read about the fabric/pattern or how I got on with the construction then just click here to read all about it!

Hope you’ve had a great week!

Hi folks!  I have a quick little update for you today. Vlieseline have released a press release regarding their products and sustainability and have asked me to share it with you guys!

For the sake of transparency: I am not getting anything for sharing this information with you and I haven’t tried all these products, but I know we are all trying to do our best to be sustainable crafters and I know we all need to use interfacing for our projects so I am certainly glad to know which ones are made with recycled plastics and I figured you would probably like to know too! Don’t look a gift Pony in the mouth…

I am so excited to share this post with you this week! It is a product review of some knitting needles which I was SO excited to receive. I spoke before when I knitted this hat that I really wished I had some interchangeable knitting needles. In fact, I think I would have avoided making it the wrong size if I had this set to take away with me. Instead of being asked if I would like to review these, they were at the top of my birthday wishlist and I actually asked if they would like to send me some… so you know that I really REALLY wanted to try these! I used them to make this yummy sweater! Read More

Heyday Dungarees AGAIN!

Picture 1

If I love a pattern I am totally likely to make it again. If I have gone to the effort of taping and cutting OR tracing a pattern, fitting it to my measurements and learning new techniques by sewing it, YOU BETTER BELIEVE I am making it again if it is a success! This was definitely the case with my Heyday Dungarees – I made TWO in the same month! Read More
