Hi! I’m Vicky, a sewing blogger who loves making a handmade wardrobe in beautiful Yorkshire. I was taught to sew as a child by my mum, but chose to make a denim shirt for my first project and (unsurprisingly!) decided I didn’t like sewing! Yeah – a bit ambitious mum – maybe suggesting a cushion would have been a good idea?!! After having my little boy in 2015 I picked it up again as I really wanted to make all the cute baby clothes – that didn’t last long and now I mainly sew for myself – little man hardly gets a look in!
Sewing + Sustainability = Sewstainability. I sew to create clothes that actually fit and I try to factor in environmental issues as much as I can. I try to be mindful of keeping my sewing sustainable but I also don’t want to be limited to only sewing with hemp! I hope to find a good balance that I am comfortable with. I try to sew with scraps and eco-friendly materials and inspire others to do the same but I am in no way perfect! I hope we can all inspire each other, even small changes to the way we sew can make a difference!
Please give my blog a follow either on here or on Bloglovin’. I would love for you to join me on this journey towards being a little bit more sustainable in my crafting!
